WOODVILLE, MS (WAFB) - Detectives are investigating a suspected arson at a hunting camp just outside of Woodville, Mississippi.
According to the Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office, Max Himmel said someone broke into his camp, stole four big-screen televisions and started a fire. An ATV was also stolen from a barn.
Himmel told investigators a note was left on the door which read, "I was paid 2 do 'dis, just leave. If I come back, someone will die."
"Here we had the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation out here and they say it's a scare tactic," said Himmel. "Narcotics people, basically, what they think is people broke in here to get stuff to sell to buy narcotics and they were using that note to deter us from rebuilding, so they say, but the note's not going to bother me."
Wilkinson County detectives are questioning three people seen in the area. No arrests have been made.
