WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA |Student finds gun in Baton Rouge middle school

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A loaded gun was found in a gym bag at a Baton Rouge middle school around noon Monday.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office was called to Mayfair Middle, where a student had found the bag under the bleachers in the gym. It contained a loaded .380 pistol.
Deputies still have not determined who brought the gun to the school, but they are continuing to investigate the incident.
Anyone with information about the mysterious gun should call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
Information can also be sent via text by sending "CS225" plus the message to 274637.
