KENNER, LA (WAFB) - The world champion New Orleans Saints returned to the city Monday afternoon and what a homecoming they received from their fans.
The Kenner Police Department estimated the crowd at more than 25,000 when the black and gold touched down at the airport, representing just a small chunk of the entire Who Dat Nation. They lined the streets, sometimes as many as six deep to welcome home their Super Bowl champions.
Danny Vorenkamp was heading to work, but when he heard the Saints were arriving soon, he had a change of plans.
"So, I did a u-turn and came out here," he said. "All I could find was a map in my truck and one Marks-a-Lot. So, I figured, what better than the whole country? So, I put it on here, they have galvanized the country."
The Saints players took pictures with their phones as they made their way through the huge crowd of fans.
