Teen shooting victim stable after surgery

NEW ROADS, LA (WAFB) - Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting at a party which left two people injured late Tuesday night, one of them is a 13-year-old girl. Reportedly, she made it out of surgery and is stable.

According to deputies, the unidentified pair was shot at a party around midnight at the Woodmen of the World Hall in New Roads. A New Orleans rap group was said to be holding a concert there when bullets started flying.

The second victim was only grazed by bullets and has been released from the hospital.

Sheriff Bud Torres said a suspect has been identified and there should be a break in the case very soon.
