WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA |Hit and run leaves man dead in a ditch

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police investigators are trying to find out who drove into and killed a 56-year-old man as he walked along the road Thursday morning.
Richard France was run over as he pushed his bike on the side of Lockhart Road near Thistle Drive in Denham Springs. The crash happened between midnight and daybreak.
France's lifeless body was spotted by a passer-by shortly before daybreak. Troopers said he was hit from behind.
They added the vehicle that hit France should have damage to the right front fender and possibly to the hood as well.
The Livingston Parish Coroner's Office pronounced France dead at the scene.
