ST. GABRIEL, LA (WAFB) - Police are looking for the man caught on a store's surveillance camera using a stolen debit card. He's believed to be involved in a home break-in, which is how the card was reportedly stolen.

In late September, a stranger walked into Dana Daigle's home in St. Gabriel and swiped her purse.

"I was home," she said. "I was sleeping in my bedroom and something just woke me up."

Daigle heard music from what she believes was a cell phone. The ring tone may have run the robber off, but according to police, he didn't go too far. Surveillance video taken at "The Seafood Corner" in Gonzales less than an hour after Daigle's purse was stolen showed a white man in a black striped shirt using Daigle's debit card to buy beer and a carton of cigarettes.

"Literally using my card and signing my name to the receipt! It pissed me off because I work hard for my money," Daigle said.

She has since added an extra padlock on her door. She said she's hopeful the man who invaded her home and privacy will be caught.

Police say whoever stole Daigle's card also used it at another store in Gonzales.
