
Darrious Adams (Source: Baker Police Department)BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A man has been arrested for stealing items from inside a church Wednesday. He is also suspected of stealing televisions from the same church over the past two weeks.
Baker police investigating the third separate alarm at Bethany World Prayer Center on Plank Road in Baker were told by a staff member he had confronted a man on the church grounds about the same time as the first two alarms.
While searching outside of the church, the officers found Darrious Adams, 22, with items from inside the church and arrested him.
Adams was taken to the Baker Police Department for further questioning. According to police, he admitted to committing the burglary.
He also told them he hid inside and waited for everyone to leave so he could steal televisions. During two burglaries at the church over the past two weeks, flat screen televisions were stolen from inside the church.
Police said Adams also confessed to breaking into a home in Baker on Oct. 17. During that burglary, musical instruments and electronics were taken.
Adams was charged with simple burglary of a religious building, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, resisting an officer (bench warrant) and as a fugitive of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.
He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
