Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest

BAKER, LA (WAFB) - Police say they arrested a man accused of stealing vehicle parts because of a Crime Stoppers tip.

According to reports, Steven Paul Mayeaux stole $5,000 worth of Jeep parts from 3320 Jefferson Street in Baker.

Baker police said during questioning, Mayeaux admitted to stealing the parts and then selling them to a scrap yard.

Mayeaux was booked by detectives into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison for felony theft.
