KILLIAN, LA (WAFB) - Flames completely destroyed a three-story home along the Tickfaw River in Livingston Parish, despite the efforts of nearly a dozen fire departments Thursday.
The fire started around 8 a.m. at a beautiful home on Henry Road on Killian.
The sole volunteer firefighter in the area texted the word "Help" and 11 fire departments responded.
Crews from Denham Springs to Ponchatoula showed up to put out the massive fire.
The homeowner made it out safely by climbing down a spiral staircase on the side of her home.
There was no word on what caused the fire.
