ALBANY, LA (WAFB) - Authorities say one of the main crack cocaine suppliers in the Albany area was arrested, along with two others allegedly wrapped up in drug activity.
According to Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies, Clifton Dwayne Calcota, 31, was the target of an investigation that has been going on for some time and there is video surveillance of his alleged dope deals. They said they finally caught up with him on North Café Line Road. They reportedly found 20 grams of crack and a 9 mm handgun.
Investigators said George Green, 55, was at Calcota's home during the bust. He was also taken into custody.
Patricia Smiley, 54, allegedly tried to buy crack from Calcota during the bust. Deputies said an undercover agent sold her phony drugs and then arrested her, too.
Calcota was charged with seven counts of distribution of crack cocaine, alteration of a motor vehicle identification number, illegal possession of stolen things, illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $3,632,500.
Green was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at $100,000.
Smiley was charged with attempted possession of crack cocaine. Her bond was set at $10,000.
