Naked man breaks into home

SLIDELL, LA (WAFB) - A naked man was caught on tape using a water hose to bathe in a Slidell woman's driveway early Monday morning and then breaking into the home, but police say the only thing he stole was a white sheet to cover himself.

Slidell police said once inside, the man also cooked himself some food and had a few drinks before taking another shower. They said he then took the sheet, wrapped it around him and walked out the front door.

Police were first notified about the crime Monday afternoon. The 61-year-old homeowner, who lives in the Country Club Estates subdivision, had just returned from spending the weekend with her son on the West Bank. She found several windows in the back of the house were broken and called police. Her surveillance cameras captured the man on video.

The video showed the nude white man washing himself with the water hose around 1:00 Monday morning. Afterward, he knocked on the front door, but no one answered. He then walked to the back yard, sat in a chair and put on what police think was a trash bag. After a little while, he took the bag off and starting busting out several windows.

Eventually, he decided to go inside the home and ransacked it. It's also when he cooked himself some food, had a few drinks and took another shower. Police said they have little to go on other than the video.

"It appears that the man is either drunk or under the influence of drugs," Chief Freddy Drennan said. "We are hoping that the public recognizes the man and gives us a call. I would be interested to hear his story and why he was naked and what was he thinking!"
