Hi gang! Quick parking update if you're planning to attend tonight's Southern or LSU football game.
SOUTHERN
Remember, Southern University is charging $5 per vehicle to enter campus. As for the condition of the lots, the University Police Chief will update WAFB 9News closer to game time. As of right now, all parking lots are open.
LSU
Despite the overnight rain, all grass lots are currently open. This includes the "old" Front 9; Lot O (which is the Natatorium lot on Nicholson); the Hayfield and Levee lots. These lots are damp but not soft, so at present parking is allowed.
Bus shuttle service to LSU is in operation today. Round trip tickets to the stadium are $15 each with pick-up locations at Westmoreland Shopping Center on Government and Farr Park on River Road.
Additionally, the Downtown Business Association is offering shuttle service again this year from the Hilton Hotel on Lafayette Street. This service begins at 3:30 p.m. today with the last bus departing Tiger Stadium 30 minutes after the end of the game. Buy tickets for this downtown route may be purchased at the Hilton Hotel's front desk (225-344-5866).
Bus drop off location on campus is the corner of Nicholson and Skip Bertman Drive.
Finally, LSU will operate its handicap shuttle service from Lot M (near the LSU tennis courts) to Tiger Stadium at no charge today.
With parking lots a little soggy, you may want to consider car pooling or taking one of these shuttle buses to the stadium.
WAFB 9News will update parking and traffic information as necessary all day today and will alert you of any possible changes in parking lot status.
