WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA |Two more schools confirm swine flu cases

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Letters were sent home with students at two Advance Baton Rouge schools Monday, informing parents about three confirmed cases of swine flu.
Officials say there are two H1N1 cases at Dalton Elementary and one at Pointe Coupee Central High.
School leaders say the sick students did not attend school Monday and will not return until a written consent comes from a physician.
"It is important for parents and students at this time to be armed with the facts," said Henry Shepard, CEO of Advance Baton Rouge Charter Schools.
"We are taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the H1N1 in our schools and will continue to work with the various local and state agencies to keep parents, teachers, and students safe."
Parents are urged to keep students with flu-like symptoms home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever.
Students are encouraged to use hand sanitizers, which have been placed throughout the schools.
