East Baton Rouge Parish deputies say Duane Jones, 44, of Livingston was identified by a Livingston police officer as the burglary suspect. The officer then called the sheriff's office.
Deputies say they saw Jones driving on Magnolia Bridge Road at Greenwell Springs. Baton Rouge police officers responded to assist with the stop, but Jones reportedly fled.
He was later caught by police and charged with aggravated flight and resisting. Deputies rebooked Jones for simple burglary, theft, and simple criminal damage to property.
It is believed he is the man who shattered the front door of Romero's Food Mart on Joor Road at 2:30 in the morning, leaving with two registers and a case of Budweiser.
Deputies first referred to the suspect as the "tattooed burglary suspect" because surveillance video showed a man with a tattoo on his arm.
