Alonzo Edmond (Courtesy St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)CHARENTON, LA (WAFB) - The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with an early Thursday morning shooting in Charenton that left one man dead.
Deputies say 25-year-old Alonzo J. Edmond was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with second-degree murder.
They say 37-year-old Columbus Butler, also of Charenton, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Edmond is being held with no bond at this time.
