Man arrested for drugs in jail parking lot

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - Livingston Parish deputies say a man who showed up at the jail Wednesday afternoon to bond out his girlfriend was arrested when they allegedly found drugs on him.

Deputies say they noticed 29-year-old Harvey LeBlanc, Jr. sitting on the passenger side of a truck that was parked next to a sign that warns people that they are subject to search because they are on the grounds of a penal institution.

They say LeBlanc was acting very nervous when he saw deputies looking in his direction.

A search of LeBlanc and the vehicle revealed several bags of meth, a small amount of marijuana, ZigZag rolling paper, and a partially burned marijuana cigarette.

He is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS, one count of entering contraband into a penal institution, and one count of possession of Schedule I CDS.

His bond was set at $525,500. As of Thursday afternoon, he remained in jail.
