One More Mainly Dry Day before Rain Returns Monday

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image

High pressure will hold on for one more day keeping things mainly dry and hot and humid.  Sunday will start out warm with lows in the mid 70°s.  Winds will stay elevated keeping widespread thick fog away, but a patch or two of light fog will still be possible.  A stray shower or two will also be possible during the morning and then by mid afternoon.  Afternoon highs will once again climb into the low 90°s.  Factor in the humidity and it will feel more like the mid to upper 90°s.  Our next storm system arrives Memorial Day Monday.  A weak cold front stalls across the local area keeping an unsettled weather pattern in place Monday through portions of Wednesday.  A Marginal Risk for severe weather is in place for Monday too.  Damaging winds is the main concern, but all forms of severe weather can't be completely ruled out.  We get a break from the 90°s thanks to the clouds and rain.  Temperatures will begin to warm up again by mid week once the weather pattern returns to a summer like situation with warm and steamy conditions and a few pop-up afternoon t-storms. - Jeff Morrow / WAFB Storm Team
