BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -A deadly fire with mysterious circumstances has one man in custody. A fire on Glenda Drive early Tuesday morning claimed the life of an elderly man. The case is now being treated as a homicide. Family members say Pete Musso died in the fire and his grandson 29 year-old Dustin Musso is being questioned by Baton Rouge police.
Dustin Musso is in custody in Montgomery, Alabama. He is the prime suspect in what family members and police are calling a murder. Fire officials were dispatched to a home on Glenda Drive around 3:40 a.m. According to family members Pete Musso lived in this home. A body police have not yet officially identified was found. But the family of Pete Musso knows who is dead.
"And then this is what he does to him its not right." According to Pete's granddaughter Theresa, Pete Musso took in his grandson 29-year-old Dustin Musso. Pete's white pick up was missing Tuesday morning and later found at the Greyhound bus station on Florida. Dustin was picked up at a bus station in Montgomery Tuesday morning. He's charged with felony theft.
Baton rouge police detectives are going to question Dustin in Montgomery. Pete will be missed. "He was always at our house everyday. We fed him supper I'm gonna miss that . recalled Theresa. "The only days he did not come was Tuesdays and Saturdays cause he went to church."
An autopsy done earlier Tuesday revealed Mr. Musso had some sort of trama to his head so the case is now being ruled a homicide.
