WALKER, LA (WAFB) - Governor Bobby Jindal marked the opening of Compressor Engineering Corporation's new facility Tuesday morning.
The Texas-based company announced the expansion of a new 44,000 square-foot facility. It means 21 new jobs will be created and 13 retained. CECO manufactures parts for pipelines and gas transmission facilities.
"We're gonna continue to work hard out-performing the national economy and today is a great example of that. CECO, here they're cutting the ribbon on a 44,000 brand new square-foot facility," Governor Jindal said. "They're gonna create 21 new jobs, keeping 13 jobs. They invest over $5 million, a tax-based company, the average pay over $50,000. You heard the CEO say they are looking to hire today, so if there's any mechanist out there, they are looking to hire."
Jindal toured the facility with company executives. He says Louisiana is bucking the national trend by expanding businesses.Comments Terms of Use: We welcome your participation in our community.
