Last legisaltive session legislators spent hours debating what should be taught in state pulic schools. Students tesified that they wanted more debate in science classes. But science teachers tesified that open and healthy debate was already taking place. Tuesday the discussion conitued in a state education committee. They ultimately kept what's allowed to be taught in public schools fairly vaugue.
What do you think? Do you think spending hours on the "Louisiana Science Education Act" helped continue a needed discussion about what should be included in classroom ciriculum...or do you think the hours were wasted on a non-existent problem and took away from real issues facing public schools? Please let me know!
