NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - Senator John McCain has "postponed" a planned meeting with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a spokesman for the McCain campaign tells WAFB 9NEWS.
McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for President, was scheduled to meet with Jindal in New Orleans Wednesday evening and then tour an oil platform on Thursday.
Political analysts have long speculated that McCain has been considering Jindal as his running-mate.
"Due to the weather, the senator's planned trip to tour an oil platform has been canceled and he will be postponing his meeting with Governor Jindal," said McCain campaign spokesman Jeff Sadosky.
Wednesday morning, Jindal made perhaps his strongest statement yet regarding running for Vice President. Appearing on "FOX and Friends," Jindal said, "I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee or vice president."
