BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - They're covered by just a few pieces of lettuce to make a statement.
Two ladies representing People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, are bearing their bodies at the pump on college drive.
They're offering two free gallons of gas to the first 50 drivers who taste their tofurky sandwiches.
Tofurky is tofu that is made to resemble turkey.
It is perfect for vegetarians.
With soaring gas prices, drivers weren't passing up the opportunity for free gas.
Louisiana isn't the pair's first stop.
They've already sported their eye-catching lettuce costumes in eight states on the East Coast.
They're next headed to Jackson, Mississippi.
