One of the Pieces of Metal Found Photograph by: Jeff Gray/WAFB-TVShe usually picks up cans in the morning as a side job, but this time she picked up more than she could handle. Juanita Truvillion found a bag of heavy iron and thought she hit jackpot.
When she got back to her home on Wyandotte, near Plank, she showed her husband. He told her to get it out of the house.
It turns out she'd actually found what may be some old World War II bombs. Truvillion took the nine bombs outside and placed them under a towel until the Baton Rouge Bomb Squad arrived.
Juanita Truvillion says, "I went and called the police and I told the lady, I said, 'Ma'am, I have some nuclear bombs,' and they come over here and it was like six or seven of them and they made everyone leave the area. It was nine, good God almighty. And here, I'm riding with bombs. I'm like, how did this get in this area?"
The bomb squad confirms the bombs may be from World War II. The nine bombs will be sent to Fort Polk for testing.
