The cruise ship "Ecstasy," housing hundreds of displaced New Orleaninans, somehow got loose and floated down the Mississippi River early Saturday morning.
The ship, housing mostly police officers and their families, somehow got away from its dock at the Poland Avenue Warf in the Ninth Ward and drifted down the Mississippi River.
A port pilot was the first to notice. Thankfully there was not a lot of traffic on the river at the time.
Crews finally got the ship to anchor about 300 feet off of the West Bank. No one was hurt.
Coast guard investigators are still trying to find out how the ship got loose.
