Roseland woman kidnapped, found dead

Authorities are investigating the death of a Roseland woman as a homicide after finding her body late Tuesday night.

Investigators with the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office said the body was found sometime before midnight in the town of Slaughter.

According to witnesses, the body was in a vehicle near the intersection of LA 412 and Plank Road.

The woman has been identified as Kiewanna Sopsher, 33, of Roseland, according to Don Mackey with the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after midnight, Antwoene Irving, 32, also of Roseland, turned himself in to officials in Zachary, according to the Zachary Police Department.

Sopsher's family reported her missing last night around 11 pm, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. They say Sopsher was Irving's ex-girlfriend.

EFSO says Irving has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, and that other charges related to Sopsher's alleged abduction are pending in Tangipahoa Parish.

Authorities have not yet released a cause of death. They say an autopsy will be performed.
