GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Reports have been surfacing over the past few weeks indicating the meth problem in south Louisiana has apparently spread to Ascension Parish.

Narcotics agents made a big bust at a small motel Monday night, resulting in the arrest of five people at Riverside Inn in Gonzales.

Authorities reported the arrests of David Bare, Stacey Farley, Manual Holleman, Tate Anderson and Cassie Duplessis.

Officials said they were working meth labs at the motel.

They were all booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on drug charges.

The Gonzales Police Department, Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police worked together to take down the suspects.

Investigators said they received a call from a manager at Riverside Inn on South Railroad, just off Burnside Highway, complaining about a foul odor.

The manager also claimed there were lots of people going in and out of a couple of rooms.

Agents said they found Bare, Farley and Holleman in one room. Anderson and Duplessis were in another.
