HOUMA, LA (WAFB) - A south Louisiana woman faces an assault charge for allegedly slapping her boyfriend in the face with a frozen steak.

The Houma Police Department reported Edna Verdin was arrested for aggravated battery in connection with the incident.

Officers said the victim told them she got angry when her Tequila Rose, a cream liqueur, wouldn't fit in the freezer.

Jerry Voisin, 51, told investigators she was trying to cool the drink.

According to police, he was bleeding when they arrived on the scene.

Verdin was released on bond.
