NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - The president of a Houston energy company is missing and authorities suspect foul play. Douglas Schantz, 54, is the president of Sequent Energy Management and he was last seen Friday morning on Bourbon Street.

The New Orleans Police Department said Schantz went out with colleagues after visiting Tulane University. All of Schantz's belongings are still in his hotel room and there has been no activity on his cell phones or bank accounts.

"When you talk about almost two days where he has been unaccounted for, then that is a great concern for us and his family," said Marlon Defillo of the New Orleans Police Department. "But when he has had obligations, when he has had engagements that he should have appeared before and failed to do so and a person of his stature, who is a responsible person with a lot of responsibility and did not respond, that's a concern."

Police hope surveillance video from Bourbon Street will give them clues as to what happened to Schantz. He was last seen wearing a blue blazer with a white shirt.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information in this case.
