SORRENTO, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are still looking for three burglary suspects who broke into dozens of units at a Sorrento storage facility in mid-December and stole two U-Haul trucks.
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the thieves cut their way onto proper Dec. 16 and used bolt cutters to remove the locks from nearly 40 storage lockers. They then loaded item from those units into a pair of U-Haul trucks.
A customer of the facility, who was putting some of his possessions into a storage unit, came across the trio. The customer dialed the gate access code and left, leaving the gate open and allowing the suspects to escape with the trucks, which were last seen heading north on LA 44 toward Gonzales.
Cameras at the business captured images of the suspects. Investigators hope the public can help them find the three burglars.
Anyone with information should call the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at 621-4636 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
