BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- Stores closed their doors after one intense day of shopping Friday. But the spending doesn't stop after Black Friday.
Next up is Cyber Monday. That's the Monday after Thanksgiving, when people are expected to log on to their computers and put their credit cards to use.
Online shopping has increasingly become more popular. Many people choose to point and click their way through holiday shopping.
But a recent survey by CareerBuilders.com, shows that a large number of online shoppers are racking up on holiday sales, while at work.
The CareerBuilders.com survey shows that 20% of employers have fired someone for using the Internet for non-work related activities. Five percent have fired their employees for holiday shopping online.
While employers tend to be more lenient around the holidays, experts warn, workers should be aware of their company's policies.
50% of the more than 3,000 employers surveyed, report they block employees from accessing certain web sites at work.
