BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Tangipahoa Parish will have a new justice of the peace on Monday.
Parish council members announced last week they will hold a meeting Monday evening to determine who will replace former Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell.
Bardwell stepped down last week after much pressure from across the nation following his decision to refuse to marry an interracial couple.
The council plans to make the announcement after the 5:30 p.m. public hearing at the courthouse annex.
