Woman accused of stealing nearly $80,000

WATSON, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge woman is accused of stealing nearly $80,000 from her employer over six years.

Donna Dodson, 47, was arrested Friday by Louisiana State Troopers after an investigation.

While working as a customer service representative for Mid South Insurance Agency, Dodson allegedly told customers who owned construction businesses that they could receive discounts on their worker's compensation policies if they paid in cash, then pocketed the cash and never initiated a worker's compensation policy.

According to reports, Dodson would generate false insurance certificates to make it look as though a policy was actually in force.

Dodson has been charged with felony theft and 29 counts of insurance fraud.
