Big Stories Covered: I spent the summer of 2010 on the Louisiana coast covering the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.When I first arrived in Louisiana, I broke the story of a Louisiana justice of the peace who refused to marry an interracial couple. In Georgia, I had several opportunities to sit down with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter at his home.
