Mike BaerBATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - About 80 people gathered at the old state Capitol in Baton Rouge to remember a man who served the public for years.
Mike Baer was secretary of the Senate for a quarter of a century.
He died Thursday at the age of 61.
Baer suffered a stroke a few years ago.
Lawmakers from the past and present including former Governor Mike Foster paid tribute Tuesday night.
One of Baer's accomplishments includes modernizing the Senate chambers with computers and broadcasting proceedings on the internet.
