THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - The eighth grade Lafourche Parish student who shot at a teacher last week and then turned the gun on himself has died.
Justin Doucet died this weekend. He walked into a seventh grade classroom at Larose Middle School on May 18th and fired at the teacher.
Detectives say the 15-year-old then went into the bathroom and shot himself in the head. Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre says Doucet's writings indicated he had planned to kill four students and himself.
He died shortly before 10:00 on Saturday morning at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No one else was hurt in the attack.
