The Kansas City Chiefs, who set an NFL record last year for pass-rushing futility, grabbed defensive end Tyson Jackson of LSU with the third overall choice of the NFL draft.
LSU fullback Quinn Johnson became the second Tiger taken in the 2009 NFL Draft when he was selected in the 5th Round by the Green Bay Pakers.
The Arizona Cardinals added some protection for Kurt Warner by picking up LSU offensive lineman Herman Johnson with the No. 167 selection.
LSU free safety Curtis Taylor was selected in the 7th Round by the San Francisco 49ers with the 219th pick. He was only the second defensive player taken by the 49ers.
LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd was taken by the San Diego Chargers in the 7th Round with the 224th pick despite being injured in an automobile accident.
LSU defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 7th Round with the 244th overall pick. He joins LSU teammate Curtis Taylor.
