Grand jury indicts man accused of choking, killing father

Man accused of murdering father by choking him officially indicted

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - A man accused of choking and killing his father has been formally charged in the case.

A Livingston Parish grand jury returned a true bill of one count of second-degree murder on Joshua Faust, 23, in the death of Larry Faust, 60, of Albany.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported deputies were called out to a house in the 31000 block of Pine Hill Drive in Albany about a homicide just before noon on Monday, October 22.

Sheriff Jason Ard said Joshua Faust called 911 to report he had choked and killed his father. Ard added deputies found Larry Faust unresponsive and he was pronounced dead by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.

An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. If convicted of second-degree murder, Joshua Faust is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole or probation.
