‘City of New Orleans deserved better’: Gov. to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The New Orleans Saints lost to the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday’s NFC Championship game, and the State of Louisiana has been reeling ever since after an obvious pass interference call was missed by the referees inside the two-minute mark of the 4th quarter.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Governor John Bel Edwards sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, letting him know about the state’s “deep disappointment” over the outcome of the game. Edwards also asks Goodell to consider a rule change for next season for such a “clear error” as this one, saying it was “so out of bounds that it affected the fundamental fairness of the game.”
