FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Much warmer; rain chances increase overnight

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - So far, it’s been a mild January morning, with temperatures noticeably warmer than just a day ago. But unfortunately, the current “spring like” weather won’t last much longer.

Today, look for a sun/cloud mix and a few more clouds than sunshine, with breezy southeasterly winds of 10 mph to 20 mph and a high near 70 degrees.

Overnight, the light rain expected to begin (70 percent coverage), with a low of 54 degrees.

Wednesday, keep the umbrella handy all day. There will be widespread rain throughout the day, but we’re not anticipating any threat of severe weather. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s early and then fall throughout the day.

By Thursday morning, all the wet weather will be well to the east of us. Clear skies will return and so will early morning lows in the low/mid-30s.
