FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Near normal temps

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Well, at least temperatures started out in the “normal range” (41 degrees) for an early morning in mid-January and near normal temperatures are expected later today but that’s off to a slow start.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: January 19, 2019, 9News at Noon

As we approach the noon hour, metro Baton Rouge is only in the lower 50s (which is warmer than the high yesterday of 49 degrees) because of all the low-level clouds still covering southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi.

A sun/cloud mix may become somewhat more evident within the next few hours, with winds shifting from the north to the southeast and a high still expected to nudge into the upper 50s/lower 60s.

Overnight, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 47 degrees.

Thursday, grab the umbrella because it looks like a 40 percent coverage of mainly afternoon showers. Enjoy a pleasant (but short lived) warming trend, with a high Thursday in the upper 60s.
