GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) - A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting where three people were shot during at a trailer park on Connor Road in Geismnar.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office provided an updated, saying deputies arrested Nepton “Ruger-Rudy” Hatfield Jr., 20, early Tuesday morning. He is being charged with second-degree murder, home invasion and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Three people were shot at the trailer park on Jan,9, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. at a trailer park off Highway 74. Emergency officials say three people were shot, one of which fled the scene before their arrival. The other two were transported to a local hospital.

Deputies have identified those shot as Eric Washington, 22, who was shot in the leg, Jaydin Johnson, 18, who was shot in the wrists, and Jeramiah Hill, 21, who was shot in the head. Hill is in serious condition.

APSO says the victims are expected to survive.

In Tuesday’s update, the Sheriff’s Office said Hatfield , Jr. was shot in the leg during the shooting.

Sheriff Bobby Webre say Johnson and Hill were filming a music video at a vacant trailer when an argument started. It’s still unclear who was the shooter or if multiple people fired shots. Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses.

Additional arrests are likely, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“I would like to thank the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Task Force for their continued assistance in apprehending violent criminals,” added Sheriff Bobby Webre.
