FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Chilly, partly cloudy

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The cloudy skies that greeted the early commuter will likely linger a bit longer, through the morning into the afternoon.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: January 14, 2019, 9News at Noon

It’s been a chilly morning, with temperatures basically staying in the low/mid-40s and don’t expect much of a warm-up today, even after the stubborn cloud cover begins to erode. Look for a gradual sun/cloud mix today, with light northerly winds and a high of 53 degrees.

Overnight, expect a few lingering clouds and cold temps, as the low drops to 35 degrees.

Tuesday, sunshine with return but temps will stay unseasonably chilly. The high will only reach the mid-50s.

There will be no need for the umbrella until the end of the week, so it will remain quiet and mainly dry Wednesday, with scattered showers (40 percent to 50 percent coverage) and a warming trend Thursday and Friday ( upper 60s).
