FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Sunny, clear

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - It was certainly nice to see blue skies and sunshine this morning. Too bad such pleasant weather isn’t forecast to last through the upcoming weekend.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: January 11, 2019, 9News at Noon

Not that we’re expecting bad/severe weather (we’re not) but changes right around the corner will have us trading in early morning coats for afternoon umbrellas.

In the meantime, it was another cold start this morning, with lows in the mid-30s and a “feels like” temperature slightly below freezing. We’re looking forward to one more day of generally clear skies and an afternoon high, rather typical for this time of year, of 61 degrees.

Overnight, we’ll see increasing clouds and won’t feel as cold. In fact, the low will only drop into the lower 50s.

Saturday will be an “umbrella day,” with rain showers likely. The forecast calls for 70 percent coverage (but fortunately, limited rainfall totals) and a mild afternoon with a high near 70 degrees.

Skies will clear and temps will be cooler for your Sunday. The high will only reach 55 degrees. That’s great travel news for all the folks heading to New Orleans and the Superdome.
