HOUSTON, TX (WAFB) - Former LSU and current Houston Astros star Alex Bregman underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow to remove loose bodies, the team announced Friday.
Bregman will be limited at the start of Spring Training, but is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season on March 28.
The Astros third baseman tweeted Friday that he will “be ready ...believe that...” for opening day.
The former Tiger shortstop had a big year for Houston in 2018, batting .286, with 51 doubles, 31 home runs, 103 RBI, 105 runs, and 96 walks.
Bregman played in 196 games at shortstop for LSU (2013-2015), hitting .337 with 56 doubles, 10 triples, 21 home runs, 148 RBI, 153 runs, and 66 stolen bases.
