St. James Parish deputies make arrest in Christmas Eve shooting, second suspect sought
St. James Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested Tyquan Twendell Williams of Lutcher in connection with a Christmas Eve shooting in Convent that left two men dead and two others injured.

ST. JAMES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - St. James Parish Deputies have made and arrest in the Christmas Eve shooting that left two men dead and two others wounded.

Sheriff Willie Martin says 24-year-old Tyquan Twendell Williams of Lutcher was arrested Wednesday in the shooting death of cousins Thaddeus Watis and Dedrick Green Jr.

Deputies are searching for a second suspect, 21-year-old Jermaine Lee Lewis Jr., also of Lutcher for his involvement in the shooting.

Watis and Green, along with another man and a 15-year-old boy, were shot during an altercation near the Neighborhood Lounge around 11:30 p.m. on December 24. Investigators believe the altercation stemmed from a riff between residents from Convent and residents from Lutcher.

Deputies are still investigating the shooting.
