BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Journalists got the first look at the new Ochsner Medical Complex near the Mall of Louisiana on Wednesday.
The $116 million facility is scheduled to open Tuesday, Jan. 15. Officials say it will serve as a one-stop shop for customers. The building has physicians, a pharmacy, an MRI machine, radiation testing, lab testing, and a physical therapy center.
“Our focus is on making the process easy for the patient so that people will be able to focus on their health and not have to worry about the logistics of getting around, navigating the healthcare system,” said Louis Jeansonne, chief of staff.
The building also has patient check-in machines. Rather than lining up at the front desk, people can enter their information into a machine and someone will come to them. A new surgical center at the complex is scheduled to open sometime this summer. Ochsner is closing their Summa location Tuesday.
