PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Several local gyms are offering new year incentives to get you in the door. Personal trainers at Gold’s Gym in Prairieville know it takes more than just getting to the gym to turn those resolutions into results.

“Number one thing about sticking with those resolutions is getting in the right mindset, making sure that you have those goals in mind," said Brandi LeBlanc, certified personal trainer.

Right now you can join Gold’s Gym for just $1 enrollment fee. Memberships allow you access to the gym, classes, and one-on-one time with personal trainers.

“One of the best things you can do is come in and talk to one of us. The personal trainers here have lots of experience,” said LeBlanc. “We are dedicated to help you reach your goals, help you make the goals that you really want to get to, help you with nutritional planning, and get you on a plan that’s going to actually help you reach them.”

  • Get on the right program to reach your goals

“Get in that mindset and then you’re on the right track. Get in with someone that can get you the right nutrition that you need to reach those goals, somebody that can put you on a program that can help you reach those goals in the gym, and you’re on the way," said LeBlanc.

“This is something that I need to do. Not only for myself, but for my family because whenever you make that jump to do this for yourself, your family is watching.”

LeBlanc personally trains but also does a lot of fitness groups, especially with ladies. She is currently accepting new clients for her Femme Fit small group training. There are limited spots available.

HIIT - High-intensity interval training

“It’s something that’s going to help you not only with your cardiovascular health, but also help you condition and build muscle.”

BODY WEIGHT HIIT EXERCISE

  • 25 - Jumping jacks  
  • Reverse lunges - 5 reps on each leg
  • 25 - Jumping jacks  
  • 30 second rest
  • High plank - 30 shoulder taps  
  • 20 - Jumping jacks 
  • 30 second rest
  • 20 - Glute bridges  
  • 15 - Jumping jacks 
  • 30 second rest
  • Regular plank - Hold for 30 seconds
  • 10 - Jumping jacks 
  • 30 second rest
  • 10 - Air squats 
  • 5 - Jumping jacks
  • 2-minute rest
  • 1 to 5 rounds depending on your fitness level

“You don’t have to get out. You can do this in your pajamas if you want to,” said LeBlanc. “It’s the perfect little start to getting to your goals in 2019.”
