NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Anthony Davis returned to the lineup against the Nets after dealing with an illness, but his output still wasn’t enough to secure a win. A.D. scored 34 points, racked up a career-high 26 boards, and still the Pelicans lost, 126-121.
Elfrid Payton also contributed with 25 points, a season-high for the West Bank native. Julius Randle dropped in 21 points for the Pels.
New Orleans trailed by as many as 24 points in the contest, being down 68-44 in the second quarter. The Pelicans outscored the Nets by 13 in the fourth quarter, but it was too late.
