BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - At St. James Place Retirement Community, they’re trading red and green for purple and gold.
Workers there are preparing for a tailgate with some of LSU’s oldest fans. And the stakes are high. Residents at St. James have bet king cakes against oranges with a retirement center in Longwood, Florida, home to some pretty serious UCF alumni. Residents at the home can almost taste the orange juice.
“It’s been an interesting season. They’ve been good and they’ve been bad, but overall, they’re not a bad team. I think Coach O had got them going to a point where they could be a good team,” said Jerry Black, a resident of St. James Place who graduated from LSU in 1942.
