BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU officials confirm a man has been arrested following a false bomb threat made against the school.
A spokesperson with the school says during the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 14, LSU was notified about a bomb threat made against the campus. The LSU Police Department began investigating to determine if the threat was credible and was able to identify the person responsible and make an arrest.
Evan Reagan James was arrested before 8:30 a.m. and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of communicating of false information of planned bombing on school property.
LSU officials say while the threat was not credible, LSUPD used K-9s to do a sweep of the campus as a precaution.
The university reminds everyone that if they see something suspicious, to report it immediately by calling 225-578-3231.
